Robert Bailey's "Cemeteries of Scott County, Tennessee" book says this cemetery no longer exists but would have been located near the Presbyterian Church in Huntsville. On 9 Mar 1878, William Lewallen and Mary Babb sold their interest to Lot No. 37 in Huntsville "except the graves of our Parents & Sister & child" to Alfred Gill (Scott Co. Deed Book K, page 561). Also Lutian and Rachel Lewallen sold their interest in this lot (Scott Co. Deed Book P, page 61). Also in Book P, page 261, William Sherman and Fernando Lewallen, sons of James Lewallen, dec'd sold their interest in this lot. This family is on the 1860 Scott County, TN census, family number 510: S. (Shadrack) Lewallen, age 53, Elizabeth 52, Eleenda 18, Mary 16, Elizabeth 14, Wm. 13, Nancy L. 6/12. From the "Cumberland Chronicle", Apr 1904, information given by Jehu Phillips: "When Abe Lincoln ran for President in 1860 . . . he received only one vote in Scott Co. That vote was cast by Shade Lewallen, who lived in Huntsville. In 1862 Shade died of smallpox in Huntsville and was buried in what is now an orchard just south of the Baptist building."
