LOWE, ROGER LEE died 13 Jun 1975 Comment
Huntsville Man Killed In Gun Accident - A 21-year-old Huntsville man was fatally wounded Friday about noon when he apparently dropped a pistol. Roger Lee Lowe died from a single shot from a 22-caliber pistol. The accident occurred in the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Odas Lowe in the Jake's Branch community. Scott County Sheriff's officers investigated Campbell County officers also came to the scene. Members of the family told officer that the youngster Lowe and his father had been target practicing in the yard of the home and that the victim dropped his pistol. A single shot struck him in the chest apparently as he started to reach for the weapon. Officers said when they arrived at the Lowe home the victim's body was inside the house. Services for Lowe were held Monday at Buffalo Bridge Baptist Church, Rev. Edmund Lowe officiating. Burial was in Lowe Cemetery. West Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include his wife, Judy Chambers Lowe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Chambers of Huntsville; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Odas Lowe, Route 1 Pioneer; six brothers, Oscar Lowe, Carl Lowe, Lonas Lowe, all of Oneida, Johnny Lowe and David Lowe, Route 1 Pioneer and James Lowe of Huntsville; five sisters, Lois Byrge, Huntsville, Fay Heath, Oneida, Karen Lowe, Dessie Lowe and Parthenia Hutson all of Pioneer.
