Violet Mae Lowe Kennedy, 89, of Oneida, passed away April 28, 2013, at LaFollette Medical Center. Born February 19, 1924, she was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Celia Goad Lowe; husband, Richmond Kennedy; sons: Ralph David and Ray Dean Kennedy; granddaughter, Jerrianda Lynn Kennedy; brothers: Leo Archie, and infant, Oits Marion Lowe; sister, Artie Gibson; and father- and mother-in-law, Virgil and Rebecca Kennedy. She was saved at an early age, and was a member of Tunnel Hill United Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Charlene Hughett and husband, Woodrow, of Helenwood; son, Randy and wife, Tammy, of Oneida; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, brother, Cleavous Lowe of Oneida; daughters-in-law: Myrtle Kennedy of Huntsville, and Regina Kennedy of Helenwood; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives. Funeral service was conducted April 30, in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home of Oneida with Bro. Billy Lowe and Bro. Troy Burchfield officiating. Music was provided by Tunnel Hill United Baptist Church Choir. Graveside service was to have been conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 1, at Smoky Creek Cemetery.
