DUNCAN, GLADYS MCGHEE died 14 Apr 2003 Comment
Gladys Duncan, 81, of Huntsville, passed away on Monday April 14, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was the daughter of the late Ulysses McGhee and the late Lillie Lowe McGhee and was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Duncan; one infant daughter, Barbara Ann Duncan; one infant son; a son, Ray Lowe; one sister, Maxine McGhee; and one infant granddaughter, Jo Ann Duncan. She was a homemaker and a member of Smokey Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include six sons, Junior Lowe and Karen of Pioneer, Gaither Dean Lowe of Elk Valley, Paul Duncan and wife Esther of Oneida, James Duncan and wife Reda and Sammy Ray Duncan and wife Nancy, all of Pioneer, and Charles Duncan and wife Ruby of Huntsville; six daughters, Reba Fuller of Florida, Pauline Lowe and husband Daniel of Pioneer, Charlene Thomas and husband Harold of Oneida, Mary Lou Davidson, and Sherri Lynn Byrd and husband Roy, all of Huntsville, and Maxine Stephens and husband Scott of Helenwood; one brother, Clifford (Buddy) McGhee; 32 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home in Huntsville. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday April 18, at 1 p.m. at the Fairview Missionary Baptist Church, with Bro.Dudley Harness and Bro. Carlie Duncan officiating. Special music will be provided by the Gospel Trio. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, with grandsons serving as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
