BUCK, JANET ELAINE died 25 Apr 1971 Comment
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 29 at 1:0 p.m. for Miss Janet Elaine Buck, age 20, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde C. Buck of Armathwaite, Tennessee. Miss Buck died as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident on the Pickett Park Road on Sunday, April 25th. Miss Buck died in Nashville on Tuesday, April 27th, in Vanderbilt University Hospital. Janet was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church and was the last person to be baptized by her grandfather, Rev. W. C. Marcum, now deceased. She was a 1968 graduate of York Institute and a junior at Tennessee Tech where she was a health and physical education major, and active in many school activities. Funeral services were held at the Jamestown Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Royal Wheaton and Rev. Caldwell Smith officiating. Interment was in Smith Cemetery with Jamestown Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Special singers for the service were Mrs. Harold Rosser, Bill Rosser of Knoxville, and Mrs. Ronald Walls, Nashville with Mrs. Lory H. Smith, Oneida, organist. Pallbearers were: Bruce Mullinix, Ray Akers, Jim Buck, Gary Holt, Ernie Taubert and Randy Clark. Janet is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde C. Buck, grandmother, Mrs. W. c. Marcum, two uncles, John Marcum, LaFollette, John W. Buck, Armathwaite, three aunts, Mrs. Ray Dunford, Armathwaite, Mrs. William Berry, Dayton, Ohio, and Mrs. H. C. Richardson, Clarksville. Janet has left a beautiful memory to all that will never be forgotten by her gay and happy life, always smiling and surrounded by friends, this was shown by the many floral tributes, words of comfort, the many acts and deeds of kindness extended to her parents and family, these attributes highly to the respect paid to our loving daughter.
